Kentucky's Violence & Injury Prevention Plan provides objectives and strategies for strengthening the public health response to injuries and violence

Kentucky’s core public health system, Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH) and Local Public Health Districts/Departments, has limited capacity to engage with other issue leaders in multi-disciplinary approaches to the prevention of injuries and violence. The Kentucky Violence & Injury Prevention Program (KVIPP) of the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (KIPRC) is responsible for injury surveillance and prevention on behalf of KDPH. In partnership with a diverse group of stakeholders known as the Kentucky Safety and Prevention Alignment Network (KSPAN), KVIPP has identified objectives and strategies for strengthening and integrating the public health response to injuries and violence.
